The new varieties of the five divisions of cotton are approved by the autonomous region.

“Our new cotton varieties have been screened for 13 years and finally approved by the Autonomous Region's Major Crop Variety Approval Committee and named 'Y21'.” Yan Yuping, associate researcher at the Cotton Research Laboratory of the 5th Division of Agricultural Science, said on February 22.

This is the new cotton variety that was approved by the autonomous region after the “Xinluzao 82” was approved by the autonomous region in 2018. It will further promote the development of the cotton industry in the five divisions.

It is understood that "Y21" is a regular quality of early-maturing upland cotton, with a growth period of 123 days, stable growth, anti-dry and yellow-resistant, and concentrated in bolls. It is suitable for planting in the northern Xinjiang cotton area and the early Xinjiang early cotton area, and is also suitable for mechanical harvesting. In 2006, the product participated in the comparative test of cotton varieties in the autonomous region, with outstanding performance. The yield and various indicators met the requirements of white cotton varieties. After more than 10 years of experimental observation, the variety was successfully approved by the new cotton varieties in the autonomous region.

According to reports, there are currently 6 new cotton varieties in the division city through the autonomous region review, Xinluzao 12, Xinluzao 37, etc. have been promoted in the division, "Y21" has also completed the transformation of results.
